Nordic Source cooperative society is an extension of the customer company indirect sourcing function and a body that manages joint indirect sourcing activities between the member companies and conducts sustainability (ESGQ) audits of its suppliers.

Our mission is

Nordic Source Coop was established in 2009 by five Finnish companies: Valio, Tamro, Saarioinen, Fazer and Atria, then Olvi joined a year later. Nordic Source main operating principle is to identify the best sourcing concepts in each sourcing category and by combining the knowledge and volumes, deliver the best sourcing results.

Today Nordic Source has 21 members and turnover of the customer companies is over 14 B€ with more than 32 000 employees.

PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGEMENT

Our procurement is based on category teams that bring together our customers’ procurement expertise and Nordic Source’s know‑how. The category teams jointly define category objectives, the sourcing strategy, and the development and tendering plan. Supplier selections are also made within the category teams, and together we agree on best practices and the most effective sourcing concepts to support long‑term development and measurable results.

PROFESSIONAL
TENDERING

Nordic Source has clear and transparent tendering processes supported by efficient tools. Our tenders are based on high‑quality, comparable data, and all participating suppliers are treated fairly and according to consistent principles.

SUPPLIER
MANAGEMENT

With our key suppliers, we implement structured supplier management that includes clear reporting, defined KPIs, and regular business reviews. In selected procurement categories, we also engage in deeper co‑development with suppliers and customers to improve supply reliability, quality, and sustainability across the entire value chain. In addition, Nordic Source conducts sustainability audits (ESGQ) of its suppliers.

COMPREHENSIVE UTILIZATION OF CONTRACTS

Nordic Source always enters into a framework agreement with its suppliers, which can be utilized by Nordic Source’s current and future customers, including their subsidiaries. In addition, where appropriate, we seek to expand the scope of cooperation with existing suppliers.
